Dar Alameria
Dar Alameria is not a hotel and not a room in someone else's house. It is a single private estate — over 1,000 m² of living space set in more than a hectare of gardens — and when you book it, the gate closes behind you and the whole place is yours.
A doorman opens the gate. Beyond it: palms, olive trees, orange, apple and lemon trees, clipped hedges, a heated pool with its own shallow end for children, and the High Atlas holding the horizon.
Inside there are two salons — one Moroccan, carved and painted in the old way; one European, quieter, with a fireplace. Five suites, each with its own shower room, wardrobes and a terrace over the gardens. Eight bathrooms. A hammam, a Swedish sauna, a massage room, a gym, a padel court, a cinema screen under the stars, and a chef who cooks Moroccan and international food in your own kitchen.
The Story
Dar Alameria was built the long way round — as a family house first, and only later opened to guests who wanted the same thing the family wanted.
The ground
South-east of Marrakech, where the city loosens into olive groves and the fairways of Royal Golf, Al Maaden and Amelkis, a hectare of land was walled and planted. Palms were set in rows. Orange, apple and lemon trees went into the ground. Hedges were shaped. The garden was designed to be walked, not just looked at — which is why, years later, it still takes a quarter of an hour to cross it properly.
The house
The house was built around a hall, and the hall divides into two living rooms on purpose. The Moroccan salon is the traditional one: carved cedar, painted zouak ceilings, low banquettes along the walls, arches opening to the light. The European salon is the quiet one — sofas you sink into, a wood-burning fireplace, a large screen. Guests use both, usually at different hours of the day.
The suites
Upstairs and along the garden front, five suites were finished one at a time, each with an en-suite shower room, fitted wardrobes and a terrace wide enough to sit on. None of them looks into another. Each one looks out — into palms, over the pool, or out to the mountains.
The wellness wing
Then came the part that turns a big house into an estate: a hammam in carved tadelakt for steam, a Swedish sauna in golden pine, a massage room where a masseuse can be arranged on request, and a lounge to sit in afterwards with an espresso or a mint tea and a chess board.
The playing field
The gym was fitted out properly — three treadmills, two cross trainers, a stationary bike, a spin bike, barbell, dumbbells with an adjustable bench, yoga mats, a punching bag — and air-conditioned, because Marrakech in July is Marrakech in July. A padel court was added, brand new. And below the house, a nightclub room with a sound and disco-light system, for the nights that turn into mornings.
Today
Dar Alameria has been hosting for 5 years under its owner, Hadef, and it has never been split up. It is let whole, to one party at a time, up to ten guests. A chef and a housekeeper come with it. That is the entire proposition, and it has not changed.
The Estate
More than a hectare, walled and private, with the pool at its centre and shade wherever the afternoon needs it.
The pool is a good size, heated on request, and open all year — twenty-four hours a day, with a separate shallow section so small children can be in the water at the same time as everyone else. Around it: a terrace with seating, loungers under slatted shade, and a barbecue.
Pool heating is charged separately.
Palms in avenues, clipped topiary, lawns, and fruit trees — orange, apple, lemon — with an olive grove towards the boundary. There are fountains, a stone path across the grass, a pergola lounge behind the hedges, and a garden majlis with a woven reed ceiling for the hot part of the day.
After dark the grounds are lit: the palms uplit in blue, the fountain terrace glowing, the pool holding the reflection of the house. The padel court has floodlights. The cinema screen comes out under the stars.
The Suites
Every suite has its own shower room, its own wardrobes and its own terrace looking into the garden. Beds are dressed in cotton linen; rooms have room-darkening shades, a safe, and air conditioning throughout.
The most theatrical of the five: a deep tufted headboard in gold, a long day-sofa under the window, and glazed doors onto a private terrace over the gardens.

Wellness
A full wellness wing inside the house: hammam, sauna, treatment room, jacuzzi, and a lounge to do nothing in afterwards.
A steam room in carved tadelakt plaster, in the Moroccan way — the heat first, the scrub second, the long silence third.
Dry heat in golden pine, with room enough for the whole party to sit and say nothing to each other.
A dedicated treatment room. A masseuse can be arranged on request, so the table need not stay empty.
A private hot tub indoors, with the glazed doors open onto the palm gardens when the evening is warm enough.
An espresso or a herbal tea, a chess board, a television, and a sofa — the room that exists purely for the hour after the hammam.
Slatted shade over sun loungers in the garden, for the part of the day when the pool is too bright to look at.
Sport & Play
Enough equipment to keep a training week intact, a brand-new padel court, a cinema screen under the stars, and a nightclub below the house.
Air-conditioned, and properly stocked: three treadmills, two cross trainers, a stationary bike, a spin bike, a barbell, dumbbells with an adjustable bench, yoga mats and a punching bag. The cardio machines look straight down the length of the pool.
A brand-new padel court inside the walls, cypress trees along one side, floodlit for evening games.
A smart projector and a portable screen, set up outside on the calm evenings. Bring the film; the garden does the rest.
Below the house, a nightclub with a serious sound system and disco lighting — for the people in the party who were never going to go to bed.
Royal Golf Marrakech, Al Maaden and Amelkis are all close by — which is why golfers keep coming back to this particular gate.

Dining
An in-house chef cooks Moroccan and international food. Where you eat it is the only decision left.
A private in-house chef is offered, skilled in both Moroccan and international cooking, and a housekeeper handles the daily cleaning. The kitchen is fully equipped — gas range, oven, dishwasher, espresso machine and Nespresso, wine glasses, a blender, a rice cooker, barbecue tools — so guests who prefer to cook for themselves can do that instead.
The garden loggia, with tiled columns and a long table, is where lunch usually happens — in the shade, with the pool a few steps away.

Location
South-east of the medina, where Marrakech turns into olive groves and fairways. Close enough for dinner in the Jemaa el-Fnaa; far enough to hear nothing at night.
The estate sits in the golf belt that runs out of the city — Royal Golf Marrakech, Al Maaden and Amelkis are all within a short drive, which is why the house has always been popular with golfers. The medina, the Menara airport and the Atlas foothills are each a manageable drive away.
